Service Description

🧯 This course is designed for employees who want to develop their basic fire safety awareness in order to assist their employer by undertaking more specific fire safety roles in the workplace to manage fire risk (e.g. as fire wardens/marshals/stewards etc.) You will, no doubt, be well aware of the potentially devastating effects of fires in the workplace in terms of lives lost, injuries, damage to property and the environment, and to the business continuity. You may also be aware that it is believed that most fires are preventable. The importance of fire safety in the workplace is underpinned by health and safety legislation that places a duty on employers to establish policies and procedures and ensure their employees receive appropriate training. ⏰ Duration: A minimum of seven contact hours in the classroom. 🎯 Syllabus: A range of subjects is covered including: • The hazards and risks associated with fire in the workplace • How fire risk is controlled in the workplace • The role of the nominated fire warden • The principles and practice of fire safety management at work • The common causes of fire • The behaviour of fire • Legislation and responsibilities • Fire prevention • What to do if a fire breaks out • How to use fire extinguishers • Emergency evacuation procedures 📃Assessment: Summative assessment is ongoing by the instructor. 🥇 Certificate: Accredited SCQF Level 5 Award/RQF Level 2 in Fire Safety will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. The qualification does not have an expiry date but refresher training and keeping up to date with changes to policies, procedures and new legislation through ongoing CPD is vital. 🧑‍🤝‍🧑 Numbers: A maximum of 16 delegates are allowed. Cancellation Policy

For online courses: 24 hours notice For face-to-face courses: If you cancel the course at any time then you must inform us as soon as possible via email. You will have to pay a cancellation charge calculated in accordance with the table below (“the Cancellation Charge”) in addition to an administration fee of £50.00 (“the Administration Fee”). Cancellation Charges are necessary because cancellations cost Us money but We will only require You to pay a reasonable sum to reimburse Us for Our lost revenue. The time before the proposed date of course that we receive notification of cancellation Cancellation Charge as a percentage of the balance of the Fees Less than 2 weeks 100% Between 2 and 4 weeks 50% Longer than 4 weeks 0% Within 7 days of the notice of cancellation being given to us, we will either:- Return to you the balance of the Fees, having deducted the Administration Fee and the applicable Cancellation Charge where you had paid the Fees to us in accordance prior to giving notice to cancel the Course; or Invoice you for the balance of the Cancellation Charge and the Administration Fee where you had not paid the Fees prior to giving notice to cancel the Course. hello@slanjavalearning.co.uk
