About the event

🩹Where a workplace first aid risk assessment identifies a need for an Emergency First Aider in the Workplace, this one-day qualification meets the requirements.

All learners will have the skills and knowledge to provide the organisation with Emergency First Aider’s that can provide treatment to their casualties in a prompt, safe and effective manner.

⏰ Duration:

09:30-16:30 in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities.

🎯 Syllabus:

A range of subjects are covered including:-

  • Responsibilities and reporting
  • Assessment of the situation
  • Dealing with an unresponsive casualty 
  • Basic hygiene in First Aid
  • Resuscitation and AED awareness 
  • Anatomy
  • Minor injuries
  • Bleeding control
  • Burns
  • Choking 
  • Epilepsy 
  • Shock

📃Assessment:

 Summative practical assessment is ongoing by the instructor. 

🥇 Certificate:

Accredited SCQF Level 6 Award/RQF Level 3 in Emergency First Aid at Work will be issued to the learner, subject to successful assessment. Certificate is valid for 3 years.

A maximum of 12 delegates are allowed.

What is the difference between EFAW and FAW? A 1-day Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) course is designed for first aiders working in small or low-risk environments. A 3-day First Aid at Work (FAW) qualification is designed for larger or higher-risk environments an and will include a wider range of illnesses and emergency situations
