Service Description
Anaphylaxis is a severe allergic reaction that can be life-threatening if not recognised and treated quickly. Common triggers include foods, medications, insect stings, and latex. Prompt action, including the use of adrenaline emergency medications such as adrenaline auto-injectors (often referred to as EpiPens®) and emerging treatment options such as Eurneffy® adrenaline nasal spray, can save lives. Our Anaphylaxis Management Training course provides practical training in the recognition and immediate management of anaphylaxis, helping delegates respond confidently to severe allergic reactions and medical emergencies. Suitable for qualified First Aiders, healthcare professionals, teachers, childcare practitioners, health and social care workers, and workplace first responders. With growing awareness of allergy safety and developments such as Benedict's Law in England, organisations are increasingly recognising the importance of ensuring staff are prepared to respond effectively to anaphylaxis emergencies. Duration: A minimum of 7 contact hours in the classroom, consisting of practical and theoretical activities. Course Content: A range of subjects are covered including: • Understanding anaphylaxis and severe allergic reactions • Common causes and triggers of anaphylaxis • Recognising the signs and symptoms of anaphylaxis • Conducting an initial assessment using the ABCDE approach • Understanding adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) and EpiPen® devices • Recognising when an adrenaline auto-injector is required • Safe administration of adrenaline during an anaphylactic emergency • Practical use of training adrenaline auto-injectors • Recovery position • Adult and child resuscitation considerations • Safe disposal of sharps Assessment: Assessment is carried out throughout the course through practical observation and questioning by the instructor. Certificate: Successful delegates will receive the Award in Immediate Management of Anaphylaxis (SCQF Level 6 / RQF Level 3), valid for 3 years. Numbers: A maximum of 12 delegates. Cancellation Policy
For online courses: 24 hours notice For face-to-face courses: If you cancel the course at any time then you must inform us as soon as possible via email. You will have to pay a cancellation charge calculated in accordance with the table below (“the Cancellation Charge”) in addition to an administration fee of £50.00 (“the Administration Fee”). Cancellation Charges are necessary because cancellations cost Us money but We will only require You to pay a reasonable sum to reimburse Us for Our lost revenue. The time before the proposed date of course that we receive notification of cancellation Cancellation Charge as a percentage of the balance of the Fees Less than 2 weeks 100% Between 2 and 4 weeks 50% Longer than 4 weeks 0% Within 7 days of the notice of cancellation being given to us, we will either:- Return to you the balance of the Fees, having deducted the Administration Fee and the applicable Cancellation Charge where you had paid the Fees to us in accordance prior to giving notice to cancel the Course; or Invoice you for the balance of the Cancellation Charge and the Administration Fee where you had not paid the Fees prior to giving notice to cancel the Course. hello@slanjavalearning.co.uk
