Our Insulin and Glucose Monitoring Training gives health and social care professionals the knowledge and practical skills to safely support individuals with diabetes in line with UK best practice. Designed for group bookings, it is ideal for teams in care homes, supported living, and community healthcare settings who carry out delegated health tasks. Delivered by experienced clinical trainers, this full-day course blends clear theory with hands-on simulation. Delegates gain confidence using blood glucose monitors, insulin pens, and recognising and responding to hypo- and hyperglycaemia before applying skills in the workplace. Course content includes: - Understanding diabetes and its impact - Blood glucose monitoring and target ranges - Using and maintaining meters, lancets, and strips - Safe insulin storage, preparation, and injection - Managing hypo- and hyperglycaemia - Infection control and sharps safety - Record keeping and documentation - Duty of care, consent, and accountability - Practical simulation and observed assessment Learning outcomes: Delegates will... - Understand diabetes and insulin safety principles - Monitor and record blood glucose accurately - Prepare and administer insulin safely - Recognise and respond to blood sugar emergencies - Apply infection control and documentation standards - Be ready for workplace competency sign-off Who should attend: Registered nurses, healthcare assistants, and support workers involved in diabetes care. Cancellation Policy

For online courses: 24 hours notice For face-to-face courses: If you cancel the course at any time then you must inform us as soon as possible via email. You will have to pay a cancellation charge calculated in accordance with the table below (“the Cancellation Charge”) in addition to an administration fee of £50.00 (“the Administration Fee”). Cancellation Charges are necessary because cancellations cost Us money but We will only require You to pay a reasonable sum to reimburse Us for Our lost revenue. The time before the proposed date of course that we receive notification of cancellation Cancellation Charge as a percentage of the balance of the Fees Less than 2 weeks 100% Between 2 and 4 weeks 50% Longer than 4 weeks 0% Within 7 days of the notice of cancellation being given to us, we will either:- Return to you the balance of the Fees, having deducted the Administration Fee and the applicable Cancellation Charge where you had paid the Fees to us in accordance prior to giving notice to cancel the Course; or Invoice you for the balance of the Cancellation Charge and the Administration Fee where you had not paid the Fees prior to giving notice to cancel the Course. hello@slanjavalearning.co.uk
