Service Description
Our Tracheostomy Training course gives health and social care professionals the knowledge and hands-on skills to support individuals with a tracheostomy safely and confidently in line with UK best practice. Designed for group bookings, it is ideal for teams in care homes, hospitals, and community settings aiming to maintain high standards and ensure safe, person-centred care. Delivered by experienced clinical trainers, this full-day course combines engaging theory with realistic simulation. Delegates gain experience using tracheostomy equipment, performing routine and emergency care, and developing confidence before applying their skills in the workplace. Course content includes: - Airway anatomy and physiology - Indications for tracheostomy and tube types - Daily care, stoma hygiene, and humidification - Safe suctioning and infection prevention - Changing tapes and inner cannulas - Communication and swallowing support - Managing complications and emergencies - Record keeping and documentation - Supervised simulation practice Learning outcomes: Delegates will... - Understand the principles and safety of tracheostomy care - Identify tube types, components, and equipment - Demonstrate safe suctioning, cleaning, and care techniques - Recognise complications and respond to emergencies - Apply infection control and accurate documentation - Be prepared for workplace competency sign-off Training follows evidence-based guidance and UK legislation, including the National Tracheostomy Safety Project standards. Cancellation Policy
For online courses: 24 hours notice For face-to-face courses: If you cancel the course at any time then you must inform us as soon as possible via email. You will have to pay a cancellation charge calculated in accordance with the table below (“the Cancellation Charge”) in addition to an administration fee of £50.00 (“the Administration Fee”). Cancellation Charges are necessary because cancellations cost Us money but We will only require You to pay a reasonable sum to reimburse Us for Our lost revenue. The time before the proposed date of course that we receive notification of cancellation Cancellation Charge as a percentage of the balance of the Fees Less than 2 weeks 100% Between 2 and 4 weeks 50% Longer than 4 weeks 0% Within 7 days of the notice of cancellation being given to us, we will either:- Return to you the balance of the Fees, having deducted the Administration Fee and the applicable Cancellation Charge where you had paid the Fees to us in accordance prior to giving notice to cancel the Course; or Invoice you for the balance of the Cancellation Charge and the Administration Fee where you had not paid the Fees prior to giving notice to cancel the Course. hello@slanjavalearning.co.uk
