Our Venepuncture Training course gives health and social care professionals the knowledge and hands-on skills to take blood safely and confidently in line with UK best practice. Designed for group bookings, it is ideal for teams in care homes, community services, GP practices, and clinical settings aiming to maintain high standards and safe procedures. Delivered by experienced clinical trainers, this full-day session combines engaging theory with practical learning. Delegates gain experience using simulation arms and clinical equipment under expert supervision, developing confidence before applying their skills in the workplace. Course content includes: - Anatomy and vein selection for safe practice - Infection prevention, aseptic technique, and sharps safety - Equipment selection and sample handling - Patient identification, consent, and communication - Step-by-step venepuncture technique and troubleshooting - Supervised practice sessions to build dexterity and confidence - Documentation, post-procedure care, and ethical responsibilities Learning outcomes: Delegates will... - Understand the principles and safety requirements of venepuncture - Demonstrate correct technique using simulation models - Recognise and manage complications safely - Be prepared for workplace competency sign-off Training follows evidence-based guidance and UK legislation, including the Health and Safety (Sharp Instruments in Healthcare) Regulations 2013. Cancellation Policy
For online courses: 24 hours notice For face-to-face courses: If you cancel the course at any time then you must inform us as soon as possible via email. You will have to pay a cancellation charge calculated in accordance with the table below (“the Cancellation Charge”) in addition to an administration fee of £50.00 (“the Administration Fee”). Cancellation Charges are necessary because cancellations cost Us money but We will only require You to pay a reasonable sum to reimburse Us for Our lost revenue. The time before the proposed date of course that we receive notification of cancellation Cancellation Charge as a percentage of the balance of the Fees Less than 2 weeks 100% Between 2 and 4 weeks 50% Longer than 4 weeks 0% Within 7 days of the notice of cancellation being given to us, we will either:- Return to you the balance of the Fees, having deducted the Administration Fee and the applicable Cancellation Charge where you had paid the Fees to us in accordance prior to giving notice to cancel the Course; or Invoice you for the balance of the Cancellation Charge and the Administration Fee where you had not paid the Fees prior to giving notice to cancel the Course. hello@slanjavalearning.co.uk
