What is the ResusReady Scheme?

ResusReady is a national initiative developed by the Resuscitation Council UK to help save more lives from cardiac arrest, particularly by addressing inequalities in access to CPR training and defibrillator awareness (Resuscitation Council UK, n.d.).

It encourages businesses, organisations, and individuals to make a pledge to improve readiness by:

• Increasing access to CPR training

• Improving awareness and availability of defibrillators (AEDs)

• Building confidence to act in an emergency

• Based on a simple online pledge and self-assessment

• Includes an interactive heat map showing CPR training and AED awareness across the UK
